For the first year of the warranty period, Bassett will pay or incur – with prior approval – reasonable and customary labor charges for the repair or installation of covered replacement parts. After the first year of the warranty period, the purchaser is responsible for the cost of the repair or installation of covered replacement parts.
After first year, Bassett does not pay for shipping costs to and from the factory on covered warranty items during any portion of the warranty period or after. This is the purchaser’s responsibility. Bassett reserves the right to refuse any claim for service under this limited warranty where the claimant cannot produce a copy of the receipt or such other proof of purchase.
THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT APPLY TO FLOOR SAMPLES OR FURNITURE SOLD DURING CLEARANCE “LIQUIDATION”, “GOING OUT OF BUSINESS”, OR SIMILAR TYPES OF SALES. ALL SUCH FURNITURE IS SOLD AS-IS, WITH ALL FAULTS, AND TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WITHOUT ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. This warranty only covers new products while they are owned by the original retail purchaser and used under normal household conditions. This warranty does not apply to defects or damage resulting from commercial use (which includes use in rental properties), damage caused during transportation or delivery, damage caused by repairs or attempted repairs not authorized by Bassett, negligence, abuse, misuse, mistreatment, exposure to chemicals and/or liquids, accidents, any use for which the product was not designed and/or the improper maintenance, cleaning or care of the product.
BASSETT EXPRESSLY LIMITS ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY AND ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY THAT THE COVERED COMPONENT PARTS ARE FIT FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE TO THE TIME PERIODS STATED IN THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. BASSETT EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY AND ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ON THOSE COMPONENT PARTS THAT ARE NOT EXPRESSLY DESCRIBED AS COVERED UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY AND ARE SOLD AS-IS, WITH ALL FAULTS (Including but not limited to back cushions, and side and arm padding). BASSETT WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR AND WILL NOT PAY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.
Any product repaired or replaced under this warranty will itself be warranted only for the remainder of the warranty period of the original product being repaired or replaced. It may be possible to order and purchase parts beyond the warranty.
YOUR RIGHTS
This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. Some states do not allow the exclusions and limitations on incidental and consequential damages or the limitations on implied warranties, so the above limitations may not apply to you.
Humidifiers and exposure to other types of moisture can damage wood's finish.
Use a damp, 100% cotton cloth for dusting wood surfaces. Dry thoroughly.
Synthetic fibers can cause surface scratches.
Place protective materials under anything that will touch the surface.
Place felt pads under lamps, computer equipment, clocks, etc. Use a protective pad when using a ballpoint pen, coasters under beverage glasses and avoid setting anything hot on your wood furniture.
Use non-plastic mats or pads to protect the tabletop.
Plastic or rubber materials can cause an undesirable reaction with the finish, therefore avoid plastic tablecloths, placemats, and table top accessories.
